Simple and cheap go-to meals when money is extra tight (5 Photos)

Most pastas are cheap and will make enough to feed a single person over about 3 days. Lots of different kinds, too. - Medikated ____ Potatoes! You can fry them, mash 'em, bake them, hell, you can even hash brown them. - JDogg_of_RS ____ Once every 4 to 6 months I like to do a big burrito cook. My friends have cone to know this as BURRITO MADNESS. Basically what I do is prepare 40 - 70 burritos in one evening. Usually takes 5 to 6 hours to cook and wrap the food as well as clean practically every pan in the house. If you get the right ingredients, you can manage to make around 60 burritos for roughly 50 cents each. Super cheap meal, super easy to heat up in the morning, and super delicious! - lusolima

The last of the ‘Mermaids’ (11 Photos)

The island of Jeju in South Korea is home to the last generation of a very unique legacy - The Sea Women. Known to the locals as Haenyo, a group of elderly women (often north of 70 years of age) swim to depths of 65ft or more to the ocean floor where they collect sea abalones, urchins, sea cucumbers and squid. The most incredible aspect of all -- they do this without the use of an oxygen tank and instead hold their breath for over 2 minutes submerged in the freezing cold waters of the Korea Strait. New York-based photographer Mijoo Kim has documented the very last of their kind with a series known as The Mother Of The Sea. Via Mijoo Kim
