The world of competitive video gaming, also known as eSports, is gaining popularity fast. Players from across the world play in tournaments held at venues such as Madison Square Garden and attract millions of viewers on sites like YouTube and Twitch. While there's a lot of argument over whether or not video games should be considered an actual sport, there's no arguing that the top players are cashing in big time and making mothers everywhere regret telling their kids to put down their video games and pick up their homework. Amongst the richest eSports players, 48 of the top 50, and all of the top 25, play Dota 2, with other games such as StarCraft, League of Legends, and Counter-Strike among the top 100. Here are the top ten eSports gamers based on their tournament earnings.
