As a kid I spent many a restless night struggling with allergies growing up in Fort Wayne, Indiana. It was so bad I eventually had to take allergy shots twice a week to help build up an immunity to the common pollens that were congesting my airways, itching my eyes, and inducing sneezing fits. But I'm not the only one with problems. Allergies affect over 50 million Americans, and some it hits worse than others. Recently, the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America released its annual list of the most taxing places to live for those who suffer from seasonal allergies.    The rankings are based on a number of factors including pollen count (measured in pollen grains per cubic meter of air) but also on the number of allergy medications each resident takes and the ratio of local board-certified allergists to patients.
